About the Club

About us

A Friendly, fun and ambitious club.

DRFC have been embedded in the community of Dunfermline and West Fife since 1893, and are one of the longest standing clubs in Scotland. In that time, the club has gone on to develop teams spanning all ages and genders, supporting the growth of the game at all levels.

DRFC's core values are Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, Sportsmanship.

It is our policy to ensure that barriers to participation in rugby - real or perceived - are removed. This is particularly the case for groups currently under represented in our game, and for those who traditionally may not have seen rugby as their sport of choice. We are committed to developing practices and plans to ensure that rugby is open to everyone.

DRFC is a inclusive club, and a proud member of the the International Gay Rugby (IGR) community. No matter how you identify, there is a place for you in our club.

Our club is home to the Dunfermline Knights, an LGBT-inclusive men's rugby team. In 2019, the Knights travelled to Dublin to participate in the Union Cup tournament, hosted by IGR. They came home winners of the Cu Chullainn Cup Bowl and won a separate accolade for being outstanding sportsmen during the competition too.

We are a club with drive and ambition. We will always have a winning mentality, to strive for success. We want to develop new talent for the benefit of our club and Scottish rugby on a wider scale. But we are also passionate about developing people, and using our sport to support our people be the best they can be, both on and off the field.

Dunfermline Rugby Club is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR), charity number SC054256.
